This range was inspired by an old Red Ensign that I had attached to the fence in my garden, thrown out by a sailor who was replacing it with a crisp new one. Each year it became tattier and more faded, yet  so interesting to touch and see. I wondered if I could replicate this weathered look on canvas to bring a contemporary feel to an item taken for granted when you live by the coast.
